Pretty Confused With FirmooPretty Confused With Firmoo

One of my absolute favourite things to do while I am on a dog walk is find somewhere I feel comfortable letting the dogs sniff and play while I sit down with a good book. The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey isn't your traditional end of Summer book but knowing that the Scottish Winter is coming I thought it might be a good idea to read something that would make me a bit less depressed about the upcoming cold. I know several people who read this last Winter and had heard lots of good things that when I spotted it in a charity shop earlier this year I knew I had to add it to my 'to read' list.

The story is set in the 1920's and follows Jack and Mabel, a couple who have recently moved to create a homestead in Alaska. The two are drifting apart at the beginning of the novel and the descriptions of the back-breaking labour Jack undertakes, while Mabel fades away alone at home, set against the stunning Alaskan landscape immediately drew me in. Their lives change quickly however with the appearance of a girl who appears to live alone in the wilderness surrounding their home. I haven't managed to finish it yet - so don't reveal anything in the comments! I'm looking forward to getting to curl up with it again over the weekend. I almost want to keep it going for as long as possible, reading a chapter or so at a time so it lasts.
Pretty Confused With Firmoo Firmoo were nice enough to send me a pair of their glasses so I could look stylish as I read. Glasses are definitely one of my favourite accessories. I was diagnosed with congenital cataracts as a child and although they don't bother me much I have always had a spare pair of glasses hanging around in case my eyes get strained. This pair are a huge step up from any of the ones I had growing up - both practical and, if I do say so myself, pretty fun as well. This isn't a style I would usually go for but I figured if I was getting a new pair then I should choose something a wee bit more interesting. The white top of these glasses makes them look really unusual and they definitely have a bit of a retro vibe - the blogger in me just couldn't say no when I spotted them on the website. Just like I couldn't say no to the excuse to do a photoshoot! I'm official hitting all the blogger cliches in this post.

Firmoo were absolutely fantastic as well, choosing and ordering them was ridiculously simple. I know pretty well which shape of glasses suit my face and they made it really easy so I only saw styles I was interested in. This pair is one of their newer releases but they had so much choice I had quite a lot of difficulty pinning down which pair I wanted most. Their shipping was also incredibly fast, less than a week from the other side of the world into my letter box isn't too shabby. The map print glasses case that came with them is coming in really useful for carrying them around to work, on dog walks and making sure they don't break if I accidentally sit on them! They will definitely be my first stops when I'm looking for another pair in the future.

You can check our the Firmoo website here, (UK site here) and if you are interested in the style I've linked them in the outfit details at the bottom of the post. They also come in red and orange which are also lovely. New customers can even get selected frames for free if you click here. How awesome is that?

Oh, and if you want to keep up with what I am reading you can add me on Goodreads. I'm thinking of trying to share more of what I read so look out for a post about my favourites of the year so far soon.
