About Me: Another One Of Those Quiz Memes

I saw Kaelah had done this quiz a few weeks ago and decided I wanted to have a go too. I love reading random facts about other people, I'm super nosy! Hope you enjoy learning some little bits about me!

What's the first thing you do when you wake up? I'm terrible for lingering in bed in the morning, I just cannot get up as soon as the alarm goes off. I'll usually check my phone, say good morning to the dogs and chat a little bit with LF before I get up and head out with the dogs.

What's the third photo on your phone? Share it! I never delete photos from my phone, I just never get round to it, but I'm kind of glad I still have this one. This is from when we were moving into our current flat and hadn't unpacked our room yet. I kind of miss the crazy fun hair colour, and yes, I am wearing a onesie.
What tv shows are you most excited about returning this Autumn? American Horror Story, we only started watching it lately and I've become totally obsessed.

What is something really popular that you secretly (or not so secretly) loathe? Until recently I was part of Sarah's 'Never Watched Breaking Bad Club', I got booted out when LF got really into it a few weeks ago but I suppose now I can officially say, I don't get it. I mean, seriously, I just really don't get it.

Do you have any pets? Tell us about them! (Bonus points for photos) Yes, I have 2 monsters under the bed. Scallywag is is some sort of lab, mastiff, staffie, lurcher mix with tiger stripes. She is 3 years old and likes sleeping under the covers and standing next to you while you grate cheese (just in case). Mania is Scally's niece, so she's everything Scally is but with a siberian husky mum. She is 2 years old and likes chasing things and trying to curl up on your knee.
If you could put together one outfit that represents your perfectly, what would it be? This is a really hard question because I feel like my style is changing every day at the moment. Right now I would have to go with high waisted jeans, some Minnetonka mocs (they're the best), a blouse and a heavy knit cardigan. I'd also love to get a new duffel-coat for cold dog walks.

What is your favourite adult beverage? I'm not a big drinker but when I do I've been sticking with fruity ciders, especially the elderflower ones that have become available lately. If I'm out somewhere fancy then I usually go for a white wine spritzer or try out some ridiculous sounding cocktail.

What is your favourite guilty pleasure? If I've had a tough day my absolute favourite thing to do is run a bath and stew in the water while watching a girly film on my laptop. I can perfectly happily spend hours in there.

What are 3 positive words that describe you? Passionate, empathetic and loving

What is your favourite Friday afternoon/evening activity? I'm a total homebody, even at my most adventurous I will just go out for a couple of drinks with friends then home to curl up with LF and the dogs on the sofa.

A day in the life: What does your typical day look like? I guess it is easiest to tell you guys about a typical weekday - weekends tend to be pretty unstructured round here. I work in the morning and I like to take my time so I get up around 6.45am and take the dogs out. If I'm feeling lazy I will just stick a coat over my pjs and some boots and go like that. Then back home to shower, drink some coffee and get dressed. I leave for work around half 8 so I can get in early and have a cup of tea before I start. I'm usually in work until about 2 then jump on the bus home to take the dogs out again. We usually do our big run now so at the very least I will take them to the park to play fetch for an hour or so. After that I'll catch up with friends or just potter around the house taking care of stuff. Then dinner, blogging or bath, out with the dogs again and into bed by 10.

If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be? I'd love to live in France for a little while, it seems silly I don't know LF's mother tongue and I would really love to learn before we start thinking about having kids. What better way to learn than living there for six months or a year?

You've got a whole day to yourself... what will you do? I guess if I could do anything I would sleep in really late then pick up some coffee and croissants for a walk with the dogs. After that I'd meet up with some friends to go to a museum and a wander round the shops, followed by a drink in a dog friendly pub then home to have a bath and curl up to watch a film with LF. Not particularly adventurous, but filled with things that make me happy.

Dream job? I love my job, so this is kind of a difficult one. In an ideal world I would keep my current job part time but also have a space away from home as an office/studio, somewhere I could focus on writing and learning new crafts

Least favourite chore? Hoovering dog hair off the carpet. This one is seasonal but I Mania's crazy shredding happens for about a month twice a year and I swear you could make a whole new dog out of the volume she sheds each day. I'm actually coughing up fur balls.

When do you most feel like a rockstar? When I get up early and feel awake when I leave the house that usually sets me up pretty well for the day, finishing my to do lists just makes it even better.

What is something you are currently trying to improve within yourself? I have the most terribly lazy eating habits, particularly when I am cooking just for me. Case in point, today I had pizza for dinner. I'd really like to put the effort into making myself something tasty (and healthy) in the evening.

Monday Link List: 055

I'm gonna warn you guys now, I really wasn't kidding when I said this was going to be a long list. I maybe should have split it up into this week and next week, but I'm sure I will have lots of new stuff to share with you by then so here it is, probably my longest Monday Link List yet.

Personally I'm more of a dog person, but I can't help but appreciate how beautiful this Cat Lady print is. I can think of so many people it would be just perfect for.

Still on the cat theme, this cartoon is completely perfect.

I am the most accident prone person in the world, so I love this idea for hand made fabric plasters from Vivid Please.

I love this piece of advice from a pug. I learn a surprising number of life lessons from dogs (particularly Scallywag's habit of barking at male dogs who are a bit too interested in her).

I am getting super excited about Autumn outfits at the moment, it's definitely my favourite season style wise. I love the colours and layers. This outfit from Ron at Dresses on a Clothesline looks the perfect mix of cosy and adorable.

Ditto on this amazing outfit from Amanda at Here Comes The Sun. It makes me want all the hats.

I kind of want this Rain Me Happy set of cards from Floor Number Four just to keep myself, the colours are lovely.

I love everything about this outfit from Laura at The Joyful Fox, those boots, that dress, it's such a fantastically feminine, girly but utterly practical outfit

I love this use of wallpaper in a bathroom, so much fun!

Another beautiful outfit post, this time from Le Blog de Sushi. I love the green of this jacket.
This illustration Knitting is the New Yoga is absolutely beautiful, I love the little yellow touches.

I can't find a source for this DIY but the photos give you the full idea. I love the idea of making my own animal brooches (you'll see further down, I am on a little bit of a brooch kick at the moment)

I used to collect paper dolls as a child and I absolutely adore these Mad Men ones, I think Joan is my favourite though.

These Dr Seuss quote from Striking Truths is so true!

This illustration by Matte Stephens is absolutely perfect for Autumn in the UK. It even makes rain look fun.

I'm too indecisive for a real tattoo but I'm pretty tempted by this temporary one by Emily McDowell. Mainly because Scallywag is such a cheese fiend.

This Valentines card by Kelsey Garrity for her partner is amazing. such a sweet and personal idea.

Last outfit inspiration for this post, I love the mix of textures in this one from Ballerina Bird. Those velvet boots are fantastic!

I keep saying I am going to make marshmallows, and never get round to it. Maybe I will finally do it with these Pumpkin Pie ones.

Would it be totally weird if I made this Cloud Pom Pom Mobile for my own room? It's just so cute.

I love this adorable Cute as a Cupcake brooch from Michelle at Creature Type. I'm kind of gutted I didn't get in there before it sold.

And how about this What Ever the Weather set from Rock Cakes? Amazing, right?

And one last one, I'm pretty sure I have shared some of Kate's Little Store brooches before but I'm totally stuck on her Game of Thrones ones at the moment, especially this Night's Watch one.

I don't know why but this gif makes me so incredibly happy. Dogs as people, it just hits my button :)

Comic Con Scotland: I cannot believe I missed Scotland's Comic Con! At least I get to live vicariously through other local bloggers. I'm pencilling in the date for next year (or I would be if I was organised enough to have next year's diary bought yet)

My Dreams Are Bursting At The Seams: This piece of writing from Faith at Twigs & Tea is absolutely beautiful, she managed to capture her feelings in such a eloquent and evocative way. I can actually feel her excitement about life

How To Be Comfortable In Your Own Skin: Blogging has really helped me come to accept my face and body and see them in a new way, but every so often I still have those moments where I don't feel great about myself. I love Emma's post about being comfortable in my own skin, and it definitely came at a good time for me.

Personal Style & Charity Shop Finds: This post from PeaSoup is a wonderful look at the difference between style and fashion.

Choosing Your Perfect Blog Name: One of my good friends asked me just last week about starting a blog and all the little decisions and things you need to learn before you even start. One of the big ones was choosing a blog name. Next time someone asks I will just send them Allison's way.

Work Happiness Secret - Track Your Efforts, Not Your Accomplishments: This is such a simple idea, but so wonderful.

Has Blogging Made Me Conceited? I love this post from Lena about personal style blogging changing who you are and the difference between being confident and conceited.

You Searched For What? We've all come across those weird searches in our blog stats, but Melyssa's take the biscuit over mine. Some of these are absolutely hilarious.

Ten Tips For Organising Your Workspace: Despite the fact we have lived in our current flat for over a year I still haven't got round to turning my desk into somewhere I can work. I've got some alone time this week so I might try and fit it in.

Ten Vintage Shopping Mistakes To Avoid Shopping for vintage makes me seriously nervous, I hate spending money on something I'm not sure about the quality/exact size of. I spend ages checking and re-checking stuff before, generally, just putting it back on the rail. I've been burnt too many times. Using these tips might make it a little less daunting.

It Hurts, But It's Ok: Zie talks about one of the negative sides of being a small business owner, receiving very public criticism.

My Embarrassing Picture Went Viral: It's bad enough when you see your own bad photo, but what happens if a photo you are happy with goes viral in all the wrong ways? Caitlin's post was both terrifying (as someone who posts a lot of photos of myself online) but also kind of wonderful. Her attitude is freaking amazing!

Yes & Yes Freebie: I've been reading a lot of free e-books with my time away from blogging and I absolutely love Sarah's collection of free ones. I'm part way through The ABC's of Self Love at the moment.

Back To Business

Well, I'm back, and with a new blog design to boot. I loved my last one to pieces, but it felt a little bit distracting. Plus, you guys know how much I love switching stuff around over here. I'm planning on updating my About Me pages and other bits of pieces over the next few weeks as well, I feel ready for a bit of a fresh start around here. My camera is still being a fussy little bugger so I might be a bit slow on posts, but I can't leave my Monday Link List any longer (it's already the biggest one I have done yet).

I've got to admit, I have kind of enjoyed the extra time not blogging has given me, but man have I missed posting far more. No matter how many times I take breaks I can't ever imagine not coming back. It's just such a huge part of my life now. I love the community blogging brings.

Thanks for hanging around during my break all of you, words can't express how excited I am to be back!
