Well hello again blogging world, don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you. I decided to give myself a little bit of blogging break in order to settle into my new job. It's going amazingly well. I don't like sharing too many details of my real world life on here, but I am doing admin for a local Edinburgh charity and I am absolutely loving it. I work with an amazing group of people and it is so satisfying feeling like I am making a tiny bit of a difference each day.

On the other hand it is only part time so I have zero excuses for not blogging, and I am really looking forward to getting back to it. I've missed you guys! Plus August is always an exciting month in Edinburgh. I've already got tickets for some bits and pieces at the book festival but I'm also looking forward to checking out some free comedy, seeing some friends performing and exhibiting and last but by no means least a whole bunch of birthdays (including my own, eep, 26!)

Not only has getting used to work been kicking my ass lately but we've also had loads of people visiting, so many of the people I love have the travel bug so I have to take advantage and spend time with them when I can. One of my favourite people in the world got back from a trip to Mongolia this month and then immediately disappeared again for more adventures - I'm kind of jealous. One of my favourite family's is also planning on moving up here so they have been up and down the country trying to find a flat and get their stuff moved. I can't wait until they are here full time!

I love it when people visit in Summer, there is just so much more you can do! I've spent so much time sitting in the Meadows, we climbed Carlton Hill, taking the dogs up to Blackford Hill or down to the Water of Leith. I wish I had been carrying my camera for more of it, but on the other hand sometimes it can be nice not to have to think about capturing every singe moment, or just capturing them for me, not already planning a blog post with them.

I've also used the last month to catch up on some reading, I used to read absolutely loads but I've slowed down over the last year or so. I want to try and do at least a couple of books a month between now and Christmas, maybe get through some of my still to read shelf which is growing dangerously large. My latest are How To Be A Woman by Caitlin Moran, Noughts and; Crosses by Marjorie Blackman, Uglies by Scott Westerfield and City of Bones by Cassandra Clare, a bit of a mixed bag but they all fun to read.

Well that's you all caught up in my life, what's been going on with you guys? Have I missed anything exciting in the blogging world? I've got loads of plans for posts this week, but I've still got to work out how to fit it all in so if you want to catch up with in between posts you can follow my twitter and instagram.
