What I Wore: Lazy Weekend

pretty confused lazy weekend pretty confused lazy weekend

Where is time going at the moment? I can't believe it is nearly the start of a new week already. We've had such a lazy weekend as well. It was LF's birthday at the end of last week so we had a night out with friends on Friday followed by a day relaxing with the dogs and having long baths yesterday. I had great plans to be productive today, there is a load of exciting stuff on including the Foodies Festival in Inverleith Park, Judy's Affordable Vintage, an alternative craft fair and of course all the usual Fringe related stuff. So of course I'm battling a cold. Sigh.

I'll just have to make up for it this week. I've already got tickets to see a debate at the Book Festival later this week but I also want to make time for a 'tourist' day. I'm always in such a rush running around town that, as I mentioned in my last post, I tend to just get annoyed with it. I figure the best way to combat this is to go out with the intention of enjoying myself. Besides, at the very least it'll make for an interesting blog post. Although, seriously, if you are in Edinburgh and are looking here for Festival related advice I definitely recommend checking out Ever So Juliet, she's way more on the ball with what is going on locally than me!

This is another new Primark dress, it fact it is exactly the same style as the dress I wore in my previous post just a different pattern. I'm still trying to avoid fast fashion as much as possible, in fact I've managed to build up an acceptable work wardrobe from charity shops over the last 6 weeks. I was in the city centre earlier this week and decided to run in and escape the crowds for a minute and I got stuck. I ended up coming out with the two dresses and two new pairs of shoes as well. I'm disappointed in myself, but I know I'm not going to make a habit of it, and it was a nice wee treat with my first pay cheque.

  1. I need to go out with the intention of enjoying myself sometime too. Usually if I have free time I just stay in.
I think this outfit is really cute! I love your little loafers so much. They'll be absolutely perfect in the fall. Actually your whole outfit would! I can't wait until it's cool enough to wear tights again.

  3. You make the rainy days look mysterious and beautiful :) Great print on that dress. I'm loving the first two shots of you in particular, I'm still gathering the courage to show my face half the time, but now I'm really inspired by your photos - so pretty!

  4. YES please do a "tourist" post on Edinburgh. I'd love love love to visit the city and a post would inspire me so much! About this outfit: tights?! I want to wear tights too, sigh. Sometimes I think I'm more of a nordic person since I hate summer here, it's too damn hot. Also, I like the dress and those flats are way too cute for words.

  7. I am so glad it is tight weather again, or rather, it isn't so warm that I can't wear tights. And thank you for inspiring me to go out and take photos of Edinburgh, I'm busy thinking of all the places I want to show off because of you :) xo
