What I Wore: Rust Dream

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

More and more frequently I sit down to write blog posts and have absolutely no idea what I want to say;. It used to be that I found the writing part of blogging to be the easiest, I've always found it easier to express my feelings in written form than any other, but it seems that time has ended. I'm not complaining, I have become better at so many things since I started blogging, looking back at my old digital camera photos still makes me cringe, but not being able to write, well it makes me want to bang my head against the keyboard and just post that. I feel like I've been very negative on here over the past week, which I suppose is kind of understandable, it has been a pretty awful week, but I'm going to make the effort not to impose my foul mood on you all any more. Or maybe I'll just have a few wordless posts until I figure out where my head is.

Until then, I'll just tell you about my outfit. I bought this blouse when I first started blogging, but I've only managed to wear it a handful of times since then. It's a pretty horrible poly blend fabric, but I absolutely love the colours and pattern, and Scottish Winter's are made for layers. I borrowed this (very short and) lovely skirt from one of my friends. She is a lot shorter than me, and I wouldn't dare wear it without several layers of tights, but my this outfit fit in perfectly with my current love of warm colours. They definitely make a grey day seem a little more cheerful.

  4. This skirt is gorgeous, I absolutely love the colour. And that blouse does have a wonderful print and pattern, I hate when a pieces fabric is uncomfortable though

  6. Typical 90's child...30 January 2013 at 04:43

We all go through those periods...it's up to you how you want to deal with it, but don't ever feel like you shouldn't put something on your blog because it's too negative for your readers, if that's the way you are feeling  then writing it out might help :) It's your space and you do with it whatever you want whether it's an endless rant or a wordless post of just your pretty outfit.

Haha, his outfit has totally gotten "Truly Madly Deeply" (from Savage Garden) stuck in my head, because it reminds me of the girl in the video :)  I remember so badly wanting her outfit back in the late 90's...it looks so good on you though! (that hair fluffing pic is gorgeous btw!!!)

  8. The 'can't write' feeling is horrible. Especially if you're used to being able to scribble away page after page in a notebook or tap along indefinitely on a keyboard. Best advice I was ever given on this was 'whatever you do, don't try to force it' try the softly, softly approach instead - do things, see things, read things that get you so inspired you can't not write about them.

Thanks so much for popping along to my blog and leaving a lovely comment - have read a couple of your posts and I'm already hooked! :-)

  9. I think the more you blog, the harder it is to write, especially when it's about fashion so I wouldn't worry about it! Love your outfit, that blouse is so cute x

  16. Hi Alice. Thanks for popping by Gypsy in Jasper today. Your blog is lovely, as is this outfit. You have great style!

I hope that you find and keep your words. Blogging can definitely be tough. Sometimes you just want to spew negativity, but then later you look back on that and think, ugh! maybe I shouldn't have shared that. Good luck finding your voice and your positivity!
