Last week I was round visiting my parents to have a quick catch-up. I got left alone in the kitchen for a little while and I got thinking about how incredibly lucky for so many reasons. I have a great relationship with my parents, and at the moment have the ability to see them as often as I like, but more than that I have the time and the resources that I can just sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee when I want. Anyway, I had my camera and snapped this photo just before my parents came back downstairs. I'm so pleased with how it turned out.
On an unrelated note I seem to have caught some horrible bug, just writing out this post has really taken it out of me, so if I am not around the next few days that'll be why. Summer flu is always the worst, I'm just hoping I can get it over with quickly.
What a great photograph! And I agree, I am lucky in the same ways. Its nice to just sit back and reflect on it sometimes. Anyways, hope you feel better soon! I just found your blog and I'm obsessed with it! Definitely following you1
Such a lovely pic...your dog has a 'Please forgive me for what I'm about to do' look in his eyes :) That coffee does look deliciously frothy. Living in Scotland the past year has really made me realise the value of family. Also, I think the more distance I put between me and my stroppy teenage self and the arguments over discos and study the more I get along with my parents as friends and equals. Anyway, hope you've a nice weekend and that you get better soon!
That photo is too cute, great job! I live at home still and I have often thought how lucky I am too. When you have a great relationship with your parents (especially as an adult) you see them in a whole new way then you did as a child. You get to see them as people and not just parents if that makes sense. I feel lucky to have parents that are also my friends! Great post, Alice :)
Hope you feel better soon! Love the photo, I keep thinking recently how great life is and just smile to myself, it's a good feeling, hopefully we'll both have it for a very long time! xxx

ReplyDeleteHappiness is DEFINITELY time for a cup of coffee! That picture is so calming, too. I hope you're feeling better! Being sick is no fun!
