A New Home

As of today Pretty Confused has a wonderful new home! I'm so excited to finally show you guys the fruits of my labours, over at:

I'm working on changing all the necessary bits, and I think I have managed to switch over my GFC but it would really help me out if you guys could update your blog readers so you don't miss out on anything in the future.

Monday Elevenses

I cannot believe it is the start of the new week already. I've been so busy what with friends visiting, catching up editing photos, planning some changes to the blog and searching out some projects for when the weather gets bad. I think I kind of lost track of all the other things I should be doing and spent a bit too much time doing the things I enjoy. 

At least I've got lots of stuff to share with you guys this week, so I'll shut up and show you some of my favourite finds from the web this week, because everyone needs something pretty to look at on a Monday. 

• Bonnie looks absolutely beautiful in her first Autumn outfit of the season, and is making me seriously consider  investing in a new hat. Isn't she lovely?
• I've got so many old t-shirts that aren't even good enough for the local charity shop, now I just need to find a  hula-hoop and I can try out making my own version of this rug. Such a cool idea.  
• Kaylah over at The Dainty Squid tells us one thing she'll miss about Summer here. 
• Julie at J. Bird* posted about apple picking with her preschool class and managed to bring back some amazing memories of picking apples with my Gran before she died. Funny what you forget... 
• There is an amazing sounding Chocolate Cheesecake Cupcake recipe over at Mandipity, need I say more?
• Maybe not the best of the web this week, but I found this tutorial to make fabric flowers over at Simply Vintage Girl. So simple, but so pretty. 
• I re-watched The Darjeeling Limited earlier this week and have had this Joe Dassin song stuck in my head since then. 
• Gala Darling focuses on Autumn in this weeks Things I Love Thursday
• I'm really looking forward to hearing more about Modest June's One Week To Better Blogging. Are any of you guys going to be involved?
• I spotted some lovely prints while down in London at the V&A and I am so excited to see you can buy them online too! My favourites are here and here. I wish I could find out who did them. 
• I'm totally in love with this look, Mitzi is really beautiful. 
• I only just started reading Someone Like You but I'm crazy about it already, check out this amazing beehive tutorial
• I'm always shocked by how many places serve green tea but obviously don't know how to serve it. Every member of staff at Costa and Starbucks should check out Moorea's post here 
• I wish I had some outside space so I could try this out, by I Go By Katie.
• And just one last how-to, I may not have children but even I want to try out Leaf Printing, this looks like an amazing way to spend an afternoon.

I Heart Autumn

I've mentioned before how much I love Autumn, the colours, the leaves, jumping in puddles, I just think it is all so beautiful, so imagine how excited I was to find that the leaves had started falling off the trees in the park down the road from me. I couldn't resist playing around in them while taking some photos! 

I'm absolutely in love with these shoes at the moment, unfortunately I have no idea where they are from. I found them at the bottom of a cupboard that my mum and I share but neither of us can remember buying them. By the look and material of them I'd say they are at least 5 or 10 years old though. Luckily my mum doesn't wear heels at all, unlike me who can only handle less than 2 inches, so there wasn't a massive argument over who got to keep them. I've worn them so many times in the past few weeks, so expect them to be a frequent flier over the next few months.

Farewell Summer

The seasons have officially changed in Scotland, the leaves are falling around me and for the first time I can see my breath in the morning. Autumn is both my favourite and my most dreaded season. I love the changes in the world at this time of year, the colours are so inspiring, but at the same time the shorter days and the stress of the run up to Winter also make it the most difficult season for my mental health. 

Luckily I have this one last set of photos from the Summer to remind me of warm days in the sun, and late evenings watching the sunset. 

I took these photos on my birthday (a number of weeks ago now) and only got round to sorting through them last night. The only thing I desperately wanted to do with my birthday was so take the dogs on one last summer walk, so me, my parents and my brother all jumped in the car and travelled up to Fife for the day. It was an absolutely perfect day, warm with a cool breeze and a bowl of soup at the end of it. 

Monday (Not So) Elevenses

Hello again everyone!

I truly cannot believe that it has been over two weeks since I last updated. On one hand I feel slightly terrible, I've missed so much, both things to write about and reading other blogs, but on the other it has been kind of nice to have a little bit of time off. I specifically chose not to take many photos while I was away so for the first time in several months I was living purely for myself, no pressure to show off what I was doing, or do any photo editing etc.

I know I've missed the past two weeks of these (in fact I think I have missed quite a few of my regular posts at the end of last month and beginning of this one) but now I'm back, so here is a (slightly late) link lists.

• Gabrielle from Scathingly Brilliant shoes off her beautiful illustrations for her 2012 calender and wow are they lovely. 
• I found this article about decision making really inspiring, particularly seeing as I've been less than enthusiastic about my future recently. 
• I love any DIY, but one that doesn't involve sewing. Perfect. Check out how to style a beautiful skirt here. 
• College Fashion gives us a history of the trench coat, a beautiful Autumn statement piece. 
• Lady Smaggle urges us to appreciate women more, something I think we all need reminded of every so often (myself included). 
• Rosie at Everything Looks Rosie shows us her beautiful new brogues and discusses the history of these traditional Scottish shoe. 
• Elsie at A Beautiful Mess has been on a roll recently, not only has she been teaching us how to make your own tea bags, but she also managed to make the best fishtail braid tutorial I've seen. Cannot wait to try these out! 
• Amber Rose finally let us hear her singing and it is truly beautiful. 
• Sian's Friday remix is yet another inspiring way of wearing florals throughout the year, absolutely beautiful. 
• I absolutely love Jack Whitehall and his first appearance on Live At The Apollo made me laugh so much it hurt, you can check out most of it on YouTube here.

London Calling

The past week has been an absolute flurry of activity around me, sometimes there is just so much happening around you it is hard to have the time to sit back and appreciate it all. I've had the most wonderful week since I just updated, a whirlwind of old friends, days out and booking impromptu tickets to visit the people I love. 

You know your life is getting a bit mad when you don't even have time to check your emails, in fact I don't think I have been online since I last posted on Monday, it is making me very anxious to check my BlogLovin' and see what all of you have been up to. I feel so out of touch, like I haven't spoken to a whole group of my friends for the week. 

Unfortunately I don't know when I am going to be able to catch up, maybe Monday... I'm going down to London this afternoon for ten days to visit some of my friends and although I am incredibly excited, I have no idea what that is going to mean for this little blog over the next week and a bit. Hopefully I will be able to get online while I am down there and let you know all the exciting things I will be up to.

I really must stop rambling, I haven't packed yet and my train is in just over two hours. It is all so exciting! I hope you all have wonderful weekends!
