This Is Not A Movie

Another day trip today, this time with my old friend David who is down from Aberdeen for the next few days. I cannot believe how busy life is at the moment! We made a couple of stops, in the woods, by the sea and then down to Heriot Watt where I snapped a picture of my friend Sean and the robot he is working on for his Master's degree, he's done all the programming from scratch so it is quite an achievement.

You may or may not have noticed I fiddled around with the layout a little again, just to make the posts a little larger, but it has messed up some of the previous posts layout. I'm going to go back and try and fix it, but there may be some that are a bit funky. Then again, I only just started blogging publicly, so I doubt anyone will be upset. Hopefully this will be the last change.

I might skip the things I am meant to do tomorrow and go on another road trip with David and I am going up to Dundee to have a girly weekend with my friends this weekend so I'm going to be super busy. On the plus side it should mean lots of photos!

Plastic Castles

The weather was beautiful today so we went for a drive up to Fife - Tuppence is a huge fan of beaches so we thought we would at least take him somewhere pretty! I even managed to convince my dad to take a photo of what I was wearing, although I don't think he quite got the point O.o

They are a bit of mix of photo qualities, some were taken with my really basic digital camera, and others with my dad's SLR, but then again, you might not even be able to tell...

The first place we went was to visit my uncle Peter's grave, he died in 1989, when I was only 2 so I don't really remember him, although apparently I met Gordon Brown at his funeral... Anyways, my dad wanted to pop by his grave and I couldn't resist taking a picture of his view, it has to be one of the most beautiful cemeteries I have been in.

I think I need to get my fringe cut... it's beginning to cause a serious problem with my vision.

I definitely need to cut my fringe, it's getting to the point where I can't actually wear it in front of my face anymore. I got a picture of my feet while I was there as well, but I think I am going to put that up in another post.

It's a friend's birthday tonight so we might be going out, or she might just spend the night out with her boyfriend. I wish I knew so I could dress accordingly! I want to put my jeans on...

Toe The Line

I took a long walk with the dogs this afternoon, I had been hoping to take advantage of the nice weather but of course it had all disappeared by the time I made it out. Typical!

The final one is from outside an adorable looking shop called Kiss The Fish in Stockbridge, isn't the giraffe absolutely adorable? It's a craft studio and I cannot wait for an excuse to go down there and make something! The snail shell is just something I found by the side of the road, I didn't have a bag and was worried I would crush it in my pocket so I just grabbed a quick snap. I don't know why but I adore collecting silly things I find.  I'm such a child!

I got some new toiletries and another new pair of boots yesterday, so I will try and put some photos up when I get a chance to photoshop them to something presentable.

Until next time,
Alice xoxo

Jersey Dress: Primark
Tights: Marks and Spencers
Boots: Barretts

We took a walk down by the shore today, it was so lovely to get some fresh air and be outside the city centre. Unfortunately it was so cold out I couldn't take any type of outfit photo, but I did get a couple of nice shots of my coat, and of my hair. I used a tutorial created by Rebecca from The Clothes Horse - I totally adore her style! If you want to try it yourself you can find it here

I spent last night doing some sewing. My clothing saviour, Nikki, gave me a beautiful high waisted red skirt, unfortunately the shape did nothing for my legs (my least favourite feature of myself) and I despised large gold buttons on it - to be honest I thought they looked cheap. Anyway, I removed the buttons and am currently trying to find replacements, and I have completely changed the hem.

I didn't take any photos of the process, just because I really wasn't sure it would work, but I will put some up of the final product if it works, hell maybe even if it doesn't, I haven't done any sewing since I was at school so I figure I am going to mess some stuff up before I have any success.

Hope you all had a good weekend!

My Feet... (Curled Up By The Fire)

Well, it took me a couple of days, but I did it, these are my awesome new Barrett boots:

It was far too cold to go outside and take one, so I decided to curl up in front of my friends' fire and do it there instead! As you can see the boots are lace up, but they have zips as well. I am slightly worried though, shoe zips tend not to survive for very long with me, so eventually I reckon I am going to have to sew them up and start using the laces instead.

Then again, maybe I will be wrong, they seem to be pretty strong.

Anyone got any experience with Barrett boots, or protecting the zips on footwear in general?

The Fool In Me

Happy Valentines Day Lovelies!

I'm not doing a prompt of the day today, instead I thought I would share one of my favourite quotes with you along with a picture of the man I spent my day with!

I must learn to love the fool in me - the one who feels too much, talks to much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries.
Theodore Isaac Rubin

Isn't he handsome?

And can you guess I am currently single?

I took the two puppies for a long walk as their Valentine's treat and I couldn't resist snapping this photo of Bertie beside this wonderful dog sculpture. It just appeared with a couple of others late last year and this is one of the few pieces left. I love the disinterested look on Bertie's face!

My Feet... (Snow Storm)

I know it's strange but I think I am beginning to miss the snow. It made the city look so pretty, much more clean than the usual mix of greys. I found this lurking in my hard drive.

These wellies died this Winter after three years, so sad, they were from Fenwicks down in York. The jeans are from Primark and the socks were stolen from my wonderful friend Nikki - if it wasn't for her I would still be wearing badly fitting 'goth' clothes, so I have a lot to thank her for. She also lets me raid her cast-offs, the woman buys more clothes than anyone else I know!

My Feet... (What A Stick In The Mud)

I managed to drag the dogs out of a really long walk today - long for them, not me, they are 12 and 17 now so they are getting on. It was really muddy though, the little one managed to get mud all over his back. Impressive, no? I meant to take some photos but the weather was bloody awful and the light wasn't very complimentary so I took another feet picture instead.

I love these wellies, my mum gave them to me when I was about 16 and they have lasted me till now. They are still water/mud proof - I go jumping in puddles shockingly frequently.

My Feet (Walking The Dogs)

I've always had a bit of a thing about taking photos of my feet, it might be because I am pretty much the opposite of photogenic, and feet are, well, feet, but I've got pictures of them everywhere, from on the bus to uni to Rome. Anyway, my outfit post today totally fell through but I did get this okay one of my boots. It was really cold and wet out so I've got knee high grey socks on as well as tights.

I think everything in this outfit (that you can see) is from Primark, apart from the tights - which I always get in black from Marks & Spencers.

It's ridiculously late so I am off to bed,

A Blog

I'm not really sure what I am doing here, or why, but life has me pretty confused right now so I thought I might try something new. This is my blog.
