Proper British, Like

Has anyone seen my camera?

I made my worst mistake ever as a blogger so far, and left my faithful Coolpix point and click at someones house  last week. Lets just say it has made taking photos very difficult. I couldn't resist doing a post today though, although I didn't watch the royal wedding (maybe it is to do with being very proudly Scottish) but I couldn't resist putting on my brogues and taking a couple of photos.

Yup, despite not watching the wedding, I feel very British today. Did any of you guys watch it? Any thoughts on Kate's dress? I thought the lace detail was lovely, but I'm not to sure about the shape of the bodice. Or do you guys just not care at all?

These photos are a little old (the beginning of the month maybe...) but I haven't had a chance to upload them until now. They actually came out terribly, because of the angle of the light, but a little bit of fiddling with Picnik and at least you can see what  I am wearing!

I've been a little bit useless over the weekend, we spent Saturday in Stirling visiting family and today ended up being a lazy day hanging out with friends, but I will be back to the 30 Day Photo Challenge later today.

In case you guys haven't noticed, I have a new page up for my Day Zero Project. I'm planning on documenting everything I manage in new posts, but if you want to see an overall glance at what I have planned and what I have already done you can just check on the page itself.

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend and have had weather as lovely as me!

Mellow Yellow

My photos today didn't quite go to plan, not because of the photos themselves, but because my usb connector for my camera seems to have decided to go on strike. It is a shame really, I managed to finally take some nice detail pictures but they seem to have all been eaten by either the camera or my laptop. What do you guys do when you have camera issues? Just leave them, or use what you can and hope for the best?

Once again, I got photobombed by one of the dogs.

And He Will Be Yet Wiser

I've had a bit of an odd day today. One of my best friends left today for a six months of travelling around South East Asia (lucky bugger) and I am going to miss him terribly. I hate goodbyes, but at least I got to be there to see him off.

If you are reading this stinky, have a great time while you are away and I will miss you terribly.

The other pictures are from the celebratory night out I told you about last weekend. I love this bar, I think the library is just so beautiful, and it means the conversation takes so unusual twists as well, and the beer wasn't too bad either :)

Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend!

Why You Had To Hide Away For So Long

I can't believe it, but I think we might be having an early summer. The past few days up here have been fantastic, blue skies, no wind, and my hayfever has already started acting up. It was so fantastic yesterday I couldn't resist heading out with the dogs and grabbing a couple of photos in the park.

As you can see I haven't quite perfected finding the best light yet, half of the photos came out with shadow cutting off the pattern on the dress, but it was a fantastic learning experience. And I only got about four odd looks! Of course the puppies had to photobomb at least one of them...

Fingers crossed the weather will stay nice, I've been dying to have a picnic for months but it's been too cold. Maybe tomorrow if I am lucky :)

For those of you who have been around a while you might have noticed my new badge on the side of the blog for Independent Fashion Bloggers. I joined last week in the hope that it would put me in touch with other new bloggers (which it has *waves to all my new friends*) and to get advice on general things that have so far been eluding me, in particular decent outfit photos.

Ideally I would love to take some beautiful, artistic photos, people like Elizabeth at Delightfully Tacky and Rebecca at The Clothes Horse are huge inspirations of mine. Their photos are always incredibly beautiful, and the scenery, rather than distracting from their outfits, actually makes it all the more beautiful. Unfortunately after long consideration I decided I wasn't quite ready to brave the big wide world yet so instead you have some pictures of me prancing around the inside of my house...

It's a pity really, I live in such a beautiful city but I am too scared of looking like a total idiot to actually go out and take photos on my own. Maybe I just need to make friends with someone awesome who owns a camera, and is willing to follow me around until I get a decent photo... If you know anyone in Edinburgh who wants a crazy fashion/fanfiction addicted friend let me know!

Gratuitous Puppy Shots

Life has been pretty hectic the past week, ridiculous amounts of 'real life' things have been filling my mind. This weekend should be fun though - later tonight I am going out with friends celebrating the completion of their Masters projects and on Sunday I have Mother's Day and my little brothers 21st. I can't believe he is going to be so grown up!

I have a really bad habit of letting Bertie sleep on my bed in the morning, he gets walked before I get up and then comes up to join me for my morning routine. Unfortunately this means he frequently comes up soaking wet from the rain and occasionally covered in mud so he ruins my sheets. Could you say no to this face though?

Too cute, right?

I couldn't resist taking a whole bunch of pictures of the two of us. Both my dogs are getting really old now. Tups is 17 maybe 18, and Bertie is 13 so I figure it is an excuse to take as many photos of them as possible.

There were loads more, but getting a dog to look where you want it to can be pretty difficult, plus I don't want to overload you guys on puppy pics.
